The programs—one an internship, the other a fellowship—enable participants to conduct research, present their results, and engage with experienced economists. The Program in African American History Mellon Scholar Dissertation Fellowship is designed to increase the participation of scholars from underrepresented backgrounds and others in the field of African American history prior to 1900. Fellowships are granted for periods over 3 months, but not more than 3 years. There are two types of fellowships: 1) those for advanced study at the graduate level and 2) those for research. The dissertation fellowship program offers individuals an opportunity to interact with economists and visiting scholars in the Bank’s Research Department, further their dissertation research, obtain feedback on their work, increase their exposure to scholarly research, and participate in department research activities, such as seminars and brown-bag discussions. Penn Predoctoral Fellowships for Excellence Through Diversity The University of Pennsylvania is pleased to invite applications for the 2020-21 Predoctoral Fellowships for Excellence through Diversity. – Neil White, UT Austin, 2016 Dissertation Fellow I met new people, made new friends, and started new research projects. Established as the Mellon Post-Dissertation Fellowship in 1998, the fellowship has been renamed in honor of John B. June-September 2019 6-8 week fellowship. While at the Board, fellows work on a topic of their own choosing, usually furthering dissertation research begun before the fellowship, and give 1-2 seminars on their work. Hench Post-Dissertation Fellowship Scholars who are no more than three years beyond receipt of the doctorate are eligible to apply for a special year-long residential fellowship at the American Antiquarian Society to revise their dissertation for publication. They offer an opportunity for scholars who plan an academic career to continue to take advantage of Penn programs and faculty expertise and afford access to libraries. carried out with the support of a Dissertation Fellowship from the California Census Data Research Center. These residential fellowships will support graduate students in the final stages of dissertation research or writing at Penn for the academic year, September 2020 through August 2021. Ph.D. Summer Internship and Fellowship Opportunities The New York Fed’s Research Group sponsors two summer programs for Ph.D. students, postdocs, and junior faculty. Fellowship is tenable in any of the member countries of the OAS with the exception of the country of which the candidate is a citizen or a permanent resident. Fellows are also encouraged to participate in our extensive seminar series , collaborate with Board economists , and to learn more about preparing for the job market.
